Fishing Highlights:

Today we had the pleasure of having the Campbell family up to Lincoln Hills today for a full fun day of fishing! It was guaranteed to be a great day with ideal river flows and great summer weather. We had all of Lincoln Hills to ourselves so we split up in to groups of two and got out on the water. Everyone being new to the sport, the morning was mostly about getting acclimated to the techniques of nymphing. It did not take long for everyone to get on board and it was a stellar day. After a nice lunch, we went out for a stellar afternoon with everyone putting fish in the net. Had a great day with you guys and i hope to see you all again! From start to finish, this trip was pretty cool, but watching first-time anglers hook fish after fish was pretty awesome. To top it off, seeing them overcome their fear of touching fish and actually holding and kissing them was even better. What a great crew! We had a great group today with us. Most of them have never fly fished before.Keyonne was first out of the gate. After a short instruction, she was off with a dry dropper rig. The very first fish she hooked was a big rainbow that slammed the dry and took off immediately for the fast water. A rather rude introduction if you ask me.Her second was just as big and mean. Finally a normal size fish took the dropper that found her with her first fish to the net. Kim was met with her first fish on the dropper as well. It was a great time this morning. After lunch Keyonne and Lashawna went up river where Lashawna put her first fish ever into the net. We moved down one run and Lashawna caught fire landing six fish of which one went twenty inches. She was just a little exited! Keyonne came down and landed a few more for herself.Kimba and I finished up the day with her landed a couple more. It was complete joy to introduce fly fishing to such a great group today.I hope to see everyone back soon. What a beautiful day. Flows have come down on SBC and the fish are hungry. We found fish moving back to their normal hunting grounds after the high water. The flows are still around 300cfs so make sure that you are using enough split shot to get down. Raj and Jared took to casting very quickly. Jared hooked up with a nice rainbow on his first cast of the day. Both Raj and Jared improved throughout the day and landed 17 fish. What an amazing family and fun group to guide. What a great family to take fishing! These guys got a late start on the water but that didn't stop them from catching a lot of fish. After going over all the basics and getting into the swing of things it was almost lunch time but we still managed to get two fish to the net. After lunch we caught a few more fish then we made some sandcastles with Aliyana. The best part of the day was taking six year old Aliyana to the pond and watching her catch 3 fish all by herself!

South Boulder Creek at Lincoln Hills Fly Fishing Club has been flowing high but deep nymphing rigs using San Juan Worms, Twenty Incher Stones, Girdle Bugs are still producing trophy fish.  The fishing is great.  Clear skies and 19- degree weather. The water temperature was between 44-47 degrees and Crystal Clear.
