Quote(s) of the Day: "Absolute amazing day on the river"

Fishing Highlights:

South Boulder Creek is in full runoff right now but don't let that keep you away from the river. Bob and Jt stuck to the plan and met me for some european nymphing techniques in high water and it payed off big time for these two. We focused our efforts on the soft water seams close to the bank and any break in the water that should hold fish. It seemed that every fish we caught today were very quality fish, meaning fat, healthy, and full of energy. The one thing about high water is when fish eat, they eat. No mistaking a strike, especially on a euro rig. It was Bob and Jt's first time ever fishing a european rig and they were a quick study. Every hole we put a drift in we caught fish, and in numbers. After lunch the water temps swung a couple of degrees and turned on the fish. We had a ball in swirl hole catching fish after fish and breaking down the hydrolics of the river to get a good drift. Thanks for a great day guys and see you in the fall!

Be careful out there! Here comes the water, even most tail water streams outside of Denver are running dangerously high! Wading is difficult but the fishing is still good. The water is now high enough that you can nymph fish the bigger holes effectively from the bank. A wading staff may be of use during this high water season. South Boulder Creek at Lincoln Hills Fly Fishing Club has been flowing high but deep nymphing rigs using San Juan Worms, Twenty Incher Stones, Girdle Bugs are still producing trophy fish. Here comes the water for Denver! To fish effectively find the bottom of the river and then fish up. Remember the fish are holding deep, to fish effectively cover the water thoroughly. Make sure you are snagging bottom every five casts or so, this will ensure that your flies are getting down deep to the fish. The river is looking superb another great summer of fishing is just around the corner.  The fishing is fantastic.  Clear skies and 56-59 degree weather. The water temperature was between 36-39 degrees and Slightly Off.
