Quote(s) of the Day: We're coming up here again in a few days and I don't know how it could be better than this!

Fishing Highlights:

The day started off early and crisp; mid-ranch on the steps beat. Bill and Matt came with a basic knowledge of fly fishing, but quickly picked up the classic nymph drift and Bill caught a 20" bow on his first cast! Needless to say, this started off a day of highlights. While Bill continued to perfect a drag free drift, Matt and I tried Euro-nymphing, to which he was also a quick study. The fish are still huddled up in the deeper runs but its worth fishing the tail-outs and edges as the water continues to rise. The big run under the bridge fished pretty ridiculous - bwo's and caddis began hatching - the boys doubled up several times, Bill caught a whale and Matt absolutely destroyed with the czech rig. The Lincoln Hills beat required more diligent wading and positioning but we still caught plenty of fish. Even the smaller fish fought really hard - they're hot and peel line off the reel. Overall, it was a fun day fishing, learning many different techniques with friends.

South Boulder Creek at Lincoln Hills Fly Fishing Club has been flowing high but deep nymphing rigs using San Juan Worms, Twenty Incher Stones, Girdle Bugs are still producing trophy fish. Try fishing a streamer with a leech or small prince nymph trailed behind. Here comes the water for Denver! Try using a large Thin-a-ma-bobber in a bright color. The large size will keep your flies suspended and the bright color such as orange or red should be easy to see in the raging river! The river is looking superb another great summer of fishing is just around the corner. The fish are looking fat and healthy! Many nice fish in the 16-22” range have been hooked!  The fishing is great.  Partly Cloudy skies and 56-59 degree weather. The water temperature was between 48-51 degrees and Crystal Clear.
