Quote(s) of the Day: This is such a great place. I can see why people get so hooked on this.
"This weather is something else!"

Fishing Highlights:

I got the pleasure of fishing with Chris and Jim today on Deadwood. The water was on the rise, so we had limited access to the water, but we made the most of what we had and the fish were pushed up tight to the bank and feeding pretty good in the AM. Chris was the first to land a really nice rainbow while he was learning to make a good role cast and drift. He picked up on the techniques very quickly and soon was catching fish on a regular basis. Jim had been fishing a couple times, so the first little bit was more about refreshing his memory and breaking some bad habits he had. Jim picked up quickly and we got some great casts and drifts down the river that produced some fish on the end of his line. The weather was all over the board and we all laughed, smoked cigars, and had a great time as we watched the lightening flash and the snow fall. Thanks for a great day guys!We are in full swing for runoff right now with the water right around 370 Cubic feet per second. With all of that added water and sediment getting washed into the system, you have to be willing to wade and work for fish. If your willing to do those things right now, you can still find great success out there. I had the pleasure to fish with Max and Jeff out of the group today. The first run we set up in was dead tree hole and after some adjustments on our nymph rigs we started catching fish. Within the first few minutes we had doubled up twice which is always a great start to the day. As we worked up river we found fish. The weather was all over the place today with the sun shining and snow spitting. We broke for lunch to warm our feet and legs up from the cold runoff. Jim jumped in lunch hole and hooked 5 fish and landed one while the other three boys enjoyed a cigar. Thanks for a great day fellas!

The fishing is good.  Overcast skies and 40-43 degree weather. The water temperature was between 36-39 degrees and Off-Color.
