Fishing Highlights:

Today I got to fish with Peter and we worked on Euro nymphing techniques. It was a beautiful day at Lincoln hills and run off is definitely here. The water was cold and dirty this morning and it took until around 11am before our fishing picked up. Once the water hit the right temp Peter hooked 4 fish with four straight casts. Peter did great following instructions and learned a great deal today about the techniques involved in this style. We ended the day with a really nice bow that Peter landed of a perfectly placed cast and drift.

With the water running fast the fish are clinging to the bottom so be sure and bring lots of split shot and heavily weighted flies. Fly fishing is good but the water is cold! Be sure and bring a quality pair of waist high waders and studded boots! We are catching some of the biggest rainbow trout of the year! Be careful out there! Here comes the water, even most tail water streams outside of Denver are running dangerously high! Here comes the water for Denver! Lots of water is coming down from the mountains! Fast current, off color water and lots of debris makes seeing your indicator difficult.  To fish effectively find the bottom of the river and then fish up.  The fishing is good.  Partly Cloudy skies and 60+ degree weather. The water temperature was between 40-43 degrees and Off-Color.
