Quote(s) of the Day: Hiking into this canyon takes some work, but its really worth - so beautiful and some really nice fish! It's great to see how well preserved this area is.

Fishing Highlights:

It was a ton of fun to spend the day in the upper canyon stretches of Lincoln Hills with Jon and Brenda. The morning started off a chilly 30 degrees with nearly equally cold water temps. The fish are starting to commit to their wintertime behavior, consolidating in deeper plunge pools and runs. It was neat to see Jon using a switch rod on small water - it actually presented a dry/dropper and nymph rig perfectly with such a long reach! Small flies were the name of the game, and as the day grew warmer the fish really responded. Jon picked up several healthy browns throughout the canyon, some in full fall colors. We turned a few nice fish on streamers that will leave long lasting memories. A nice bowl of hot soup at the end of the day, sitting in good company in the sun was a perfect way to shake off the chill. Overall, a fun trip - thank you guys!

The fishing is good.  Clear skies and 44-47 degree weather. The water temperature was between 36-39 degrees and Crystal Clear.
