Quote(s) of the Day: Are the trout here the biggest in the state?

Fishing Highlights:

We hit the river before the storm moved in and were rewarded with some darn good fishing. Trout were taking orange stimulators in size #10 off of the surface and were feeding on small black midge patterns sub-surface. Even though Gordon was brand new to fly fishing it didn't take long for him to really get dialed in, and start sticking trout after trout. The highlight of the day came mid-morning, as seasoned vets Alan and Matt, watched Gordon land a beautiful 22" rainbow on a nymph rig. It was a great day of fishing with even better company.

Do yourself a favor and get to Colorado’s mountains! The leaves are changing, the elk are bugling, and big brown trout are on the move! After a whole season of pressure the fish are getting spooky. Stealth is the name of the game so walk softly and keep a low profile. The lower flows and clear water means it’s time for smaller flies, longer leaders, and lighter tippets.  The brown trout are dropping eggs and the other fish are eating them with reckless abandonment.  The fishing is good.  Clear skies and 56-59 degree weather. The water temperature was between 48-51 degrees and Crystal Clear.
