This section of river is just beautiful. What is going on?? I never lose this many fish. Man, I really am glad I am not behind the computer screen today.
Great fishing at Lincoln Hills!
This place is awesome.
"The fishing here is unbelievable!"

Fishing Highlights:

The air was cool and crisp this morning. You can feel fall lurking around the corner. Bill and Mark took to casting very well after a short instruction. Mark fished a hopper dropper and Bill fished a standard nymph rig. Both setups produced fish. We found most of the fish today eating small flies. Size 20-22 were fooling most the fish. Midge patterns, barr's emerger, and rs2's worked for us today. Right before we ended the day Mark and Bill got a double header which was a fantastic way to end off a great day of fishing. The morning started out a little slow for Chris today, but once we got the bugs dialed in the fish started eating. Chris hooked and lost a bunch of fish this morning. He was doing a really good job of keeping track himself, and when it was double digit lost fish and double digit fish to the net, we decided that we would call it for lunch. After lunch we were in the canyon and the fishing was really good. Chris and David both started out putting nice fish in the net, then while David continued to put fish after fish in the net. Chris went back to hooking and losing a few before he got back into the swing of things and started putting fish in the net. Overall the day ended on a great high note as Chris put his largest fish of the day in the net. The fish were chasing the hopper/terrestrial flies on top, but most of our fish came off the bottom with hot pockets.Craig had never fly fished before and wanted to learn the basics so we focused on nymphing and teaching him skills that he could use on other rivers in Colorado. He did a wonderful job of learning how to cast, fight and land fish on his own. Very proud of the work Craig did and look forward to fishing together soon! We netted some fish over 20 inches. The streamer bite was on today! It was a spectacular day on South Boulder Creek today. It was John's first time fishing with us and it was awesome. We nymph fished the morning hours and had consistent action through the morning picking fish up every hole we came to. Pat stuck fish all morning on a nymph rig and some really nice trout to say the least. After a great lunch we hit it hard and the fish were responsive to every bug we tied on. We came to rebar hole in the afternoon and John had a hay day. It seemed like every cast we were hooked up. He ended up catching the two biggest brown trout of the day which made for some great photos. Thanks for a fun day on the water fellas.

It summer at Lincoln Hills, the big fish are on the feed and many big fish in the 4-6 pound class have been hooked and our fly fishing trips have been fantastic. Work the water in between major runs and riffles, sometimes the odd pocket will produce a trophy fish. The fish are looking fat and healthy! Many nice fish in the 16-22” range have been hooked! The big fish are on the feed! Anglers are reporting hooking numerous brown and rainbow trout in the 5-10 pound range. This is your best shot at a World- Class trout fishing experience close to Denver. The days are getting shorter and the nights are getting cooler, fall is around the corner.  The fishing is fantastic.  Clear skies and 60+ degree weather. The water temperature was between 52-55 degrees and Crystal Clear.
