Fishing Highlights:

This is just as about as close as you can get to a perfect day. The weather was great all day, the flow is perfect ,and the fish are eating well. Leo stepped in the water this morning and set the bar pretty high.Matt and Patrick did the same .Everyone got hooked up early and it never stopped. Leo was the first one with a twenty four inch fish. He spotted it and made one cast to it and it took it.He had a nice little fight before bringing to the net.Matt saw one sitting in a non assuming spot. Made one cast then landing his as well. Patrick hunted his big one for a couple of minutes ,before he hooked and landed his as well. Great job guys! We had dry dropper rigs on all day. Not once did we pick up a nymph rod. Fish were eating the dry as well as the dropper.Matt put on a double dry in the afternoon and had the same results. It was an absolute blast to be on the water today with this group. Thanks to everyone one for a incredible day.

Dry flies and droppers are the way to go! It summer at Lincoln Hills, the big fish are on the feed and many big fish in the 4-6 pound class have been hooked and our fly fishing trips have been fantastic. Work the water in between major runs and riffles, sometimes the odd pocket will produce a trophy fish. The fish are looking fat and healthy! Many nice fish in the 16-22” range have been hooked! The big fish are on the feed! Anglers are reporting hooking numerous brown and rainbow trout in the 5-10 pound range. This is your best shot at a World- Class trout fishing experience close to Denver. It is one hot summer on the river! Time to put the waders away and bust out the gravel guards and wet wading sandals.  Try an Amy’s Ant (size 10-12) or California Blonde (size 10-16) to fool hopper eating fish. Water temperatures are getting high. Warmer temps can be lethal to trout. Please fight and land your trout quickly and handle them to a minimum.  The fishing is fantastic.  Clear skies and 60+ degree weather. The water temperature was between 52-55 degrees and Crystal Clear.
