Fishing Highlights:

I picked up Tyler and Dudley at thier hotel downtown and we had a great drive into the hills. After a nice hike and a few stops along the way to eat some raspberries we reached our first fishing spot. Dudley was a quick learner and started off the day with a small but beautiful brook trout. Tyler took a little longer to get on the board but when he did we managed to land a really nice 18 in rainbow trout this was followed shortly by decent brown trout. We managed to get out of the city for the morning and had a great time on the water.

Summer is a dry fly fisher’s paradise in the canyon! Look for fish to be spread out throughout the water. Dry dropper rigs are by far producing the most fish. Make sure your dropper is heavy enough to get down quick. Our pro guides are writing fly fishing reports about all kinds of insects! We are seeing all stoneflies, mayflies, caddis and of course midges.  Get to Deadwood Placer, Freeze Placer, and Yacht Club for some of the best dry fly days of the year!  The fishing is good.  Clear skies and 60+ degree weather. The water temperature was between 52-55 degrees and Crystal Clear.
