Quote(s) of the Day: I just love coming up here. The wild trout and the beautiful place make the walk worth it.

Fishing Highlights:

The water was a little off color today because of the recent rains, but by the time we walked to where we wanted to start fishing, it had cleared up pretty good. The name of the game today was dry flies. We fished a single dry all day long and just kept changing to keep up with the hatches. Peter hooked and landed a ton of fish today. They ate with tenacity and often. We worked the pockets, the riffles and runs all day long with plenty of fish to keep us happy and laughing. It was a great day!

Summer is a dry fly fisher’s paradise in the canyon! It is another Colorado summer and good fly fishing is on the horizon. Look for fish to be spread out throughout the water. Forget your nymph box the dry fly fishing has been unreal. Get to the water now in order to experience some of the best insect hatches of the year. Red Quills, Mahogany Duns and Pale Morning Duns are all hatching sporadically throughout the day.  The fishing is fantastic.  Overcast skies and 60+ degree weather. The water temperature was between 56-59 degrees and Slightly Off.
