Quote(s) of the Day: "We could end up down at the stop sign if we were to fish all the spots now"!

Fishing Highlights:

The water level is getting to be just about perfect. We are now able to get to the spots that have been out of reach with the high water. Wet wading and dry fly fishing, how long have we waited for this? Tom walked right in this morning and started to slam fish on the dry. Mary joined the wet wading club and after a few minutes was hooking fish on dries as well. We told some jokes and hooked fish all day long on the dry dropper rig. We even had her crossing the middle of the river to soft seems and watched as the fish could not wait to eat her dry. Tom took a nice rainbow that went twenty four inches. He went down a little and took another nice fish on the first drift through the far side. As the day went on you could just see the confidence building in Mary. She was making cast under trees and getting rewarded with nice fish. It was an absolutely great and fun day fishing with the both of them. Hope to see the both of you back soon.

Dry flies and droppers are the way to go! It summer at Lincoln Hills, the big fish are on the feed and many big fish in the 4-6 pound class have been hooked and our fly fishing trips have been fantastic. Work the water in between major runs and riffles, sometimes the odd pocket will produce a trophy fish. The fish are looking fat and healthy! Many nice fish in the 16-22” range have been hooked! The big fish are on the feed! Anglers are reporting hooking numerous brown and rainbow trout in the 5-10 pound range. This is your best shot at a World- Class trout fishing experience close to Denver. It is one hot summer on the river! Time to put the waders away and bust out the gravel guards and wet wading sandals.  Try an Amy’s Ant (size 10-12) or California Blonde (size 10-16) to fool hopper eating fish.  The fishing is fantastic.  Clear skies and 60+ degree weather. The water temperature was between 48-51 degrees and Crystal Clear.
