Quote(s) of the Day: I have learned so much today!

Fishing Highlights:

Today was a perfect day to spend up at Lincoln Hills. Being high up in the mountains we were able to escape some of the heat. The flows were around 230cfs when we started fishing in the morning. Both Mike and Blake were eager to learn about the sport. We spent some time working on rigging and knots first then headed down to the river to work on casting. Blake was the first to hook up with a nice rainbow then Mike got a few right before lunch. After lunch we headed up the canyon and found some great spots to get our lines wet. We threw on a streamer and had a lot of action from fish. Lots of chases and a few eats. Mike got his first ever fish on a streamer. We really had a great time out there today. Mike and Blake both learned a lot. Hope to see you guys out there soon.

To better your odds of hooking trout try nymph fishing with a three fly rig. Try fishing a streamer with a leech or small prince nymph trailed behind. Runoff is subsiding. The water across Colorado is clearing up day by day and we are looking forward to doing more and more fly fishing trips. The bug life is getting active as well; summer is just around the corner. The water is beginning to come down and clear up. The river is looking superb another great summer of fishing is just around the corner. Dry flies and droppers are the way to go! It summer at Lincoln Hills, the big fish are on the feed and many big fish in the 4-6 pound class have been hooked and our fly fishing trips have been fantastic. The fish are looking fat and healthy! Many nice fish in the 16-22” range have been hooked! This is your best shot at a World- Class trout fishing experience close to Denver.  The fishing is good.  Clear skies and 60+ degree weather. The water temperature was between 52-55 degrees and Crystal Clear.
