Quote(s) of the Day: Fly fishing is so much fun!

Fishing Highlights:

It seems like the last four or five years the weather for mothers day has been a little less than perfect. It didn't snow on us this year but it was colder and raining. The flow was higher again today, around 665. That sounds high but in all actuality is flattened out some of the water. It was Judy's first time ever fly fishing. After a quick instruction she was off hooking and landing her first couple of fish. Chef D had a incredible mother's day lunch ready for us just as everybody was getting cold. After lunch Amanda broke out of her long winter's nap. Taking many large fish on a dry dropper drifting in the soft seems. Abigail took several nice fish as well with a nice rainbow coming up and taking the dry off the top. It was a great way, with a great family to spend mothers day with. Thank you to everyone and happy mothers day! I hope to see you soon.

This is some of the best fly fishing in Colorado! Switch to dries and emergers when you see fish suspended just below the surface or actively rising. Fly fishing is good but the water is cold! Be sure and bring a quality pair of waist high waders and studded boots! Fishing is good but it’s still cold out there! To maximize the bite strive to be on the water from 10 am to 2 pm. Late spring temperatures are running high around Denver and the surrounding Western Slope. Get in some time right now before the water begins to blow out! Be careful out there! Here comes the water, even most tail water streams outside of Denver are running dangerously high! Wading is difficult but the fishing is still good. A wading staff may be of use during this high water season. To better your odds of hooking trout try nymph fishing with a three fly rig. Here comes the water for Denver! Lots of water is coming down from the mountains! Fast current, off color water and lots of debris makes seeing your indicator difficult.   The fishing is good.  Overcast skies and 48-51 degree weather. The water temperature was between 36-39 degrees and Stained.
