Quote(s) of the Day: Lincoln Hills is one heckuva special place!

Fishing Highlights:

The river was running high and dirty today! But did that stop Landon, Big Jim and Jimmy K from having a great day and getting into trout? Absolutely not. Big Jim got the morning started off right by getting into a nice Rainbow on his 3rd cast of the day, while Jim K was a bit more deliberate (yes, that's my fancy word for taking longer) on getting into his trout. Landon was very consistent all day long, netting a trout here and netting one there on a wide variety of patterns. With South Boulder Creek running at a tad over 500 cfs, overall, the fishing was pretty darn good. The key was to find soft water along the banks but once we found those pockets it was game on. Even though the fishing was really good, especially considering the conditions, the company and camaraderie of the group was the absolute highlight of the day. We caught plenty of fish but there is nothing like being on the river with good friends. Hope to have you all out again sometime soon!

With the water running fast the fish are clinging to the bottom so be sure and bring lots of split shot and heavily weighted flies. Fly fishing is good but the water is cold! Be sure and bring a quality pair of waist high waders and studded boots! Wading is difficult but the fishing is still good.  The fishing is good.  Overcast skies and 56-59 degree weather. The water temperature was between 36-39 degrees and Stained.
