Quote(s) of the Day: This place is so awesome!

Fishing Highlights:

We were lucky enough to have some beautiful weather to fish in. The sky was sunny and the temperatures were perfect. After I got everyone rigged up we hit the river. It didn't take long before Tyler hooked up with his first fish. Soon after Reed caught a nice rainbow as well. Both Reed and Tyler went back and forth all morning. We didn't move around too much because the fishing was so good. They put about 20 fish in the net before lunch. Fish were keyed in on the red worms that we were throwing at them. After lunch the fishing slowed down a bit and we had to work a bit harder to find fish. Both Reed and Tyler improved their roll casting skills and continued to put fish in the net. Reed and Tyler were a pleasure to guide.

The Ice is off and the stream is beginning to become fishable! This is some of the best fly fishing in Colorado! Good hatches of Midges and Blue Winged Olives are prevalent.  For best results start nymphing with small imitations using hook sizes 18-22.  Look for fish holding anywhere there is structure especially eddies and log jams. We are catching some of the biggest rainbow trout of the year! To better your odds of hooking trout try nymph fishing with a three fly rig.  The fishing is good.  Clear skies and 56-59 degree weather. The water temperature was between 36-39 degrees and Stained.
