Quote(s) of the Day: That’s my personal best up here!

Fishing Highlights:

The morning fishing was excellent. We tried copper johns, baetis, midges, leeches, worms, and eggs and the fish were eating everything. Adam and Sam each put more than a dozen fish in the net. Adam landed a 23” cutbow and a cutthroat of 4+ pounds. Sam landed a 20” rainbow and several just under 20”. He also hooked two fish over 25” but unfortunately they both popped off. The afternoon was significantly slower. We had to work a little harder but fish were still caught. I hope to see Adam and Sam at Lincoln Hills again in the near future. Overall, another great day at Lincoln Hills.

This is some of the best fly fishing in Colorado! Concentrate your efforts on the biggest and deepest holes in the river.  Watch out for spawning beds! These areas can be easily identified by shallow light colored depressions usually found on or near long riffles. We are catching some of the biggest rainbow trout of the year! Late spring temperatures are running high around Denver and the surrounding Western Slope. Get in some time right now before the water begins to blow out!  The fishing is great.  Clear skies and 56-59 degree weather. The water temperature was between 40-43 degrees and Slightly Off.
