Fishing Highlights:

You have to love spring in Colorado. This morning we arrived to blizzard like conditions. The river was up a bit and slightly stained which made for great fishing conditions. Mark and Cam started the morning nymphing all the different plunge pools as we worked up river. The fish were eating red worms, orange eggs, and a variety of different nymphs. The weather really never let up on us all day. The snow turned to rain and then turned back to snow. Mark and Cam were troopers out there and had a great time. We spent some time in the afternoon working on roll casting which came in very handy in some parts of the river. Thanks again for a great day on the water guys!

This is some of the best fly fishing in Colorado! The Ice is out! The bite is on at both rivers and lakes! The rainbow and cut-bow in our waters have begun spawning. Fish egg patterns imitating both fresh (red eggs) and dead eggs (pale pinkish eggs). Look for fish holding anywhere there is structure especially eddies and log jams. Fly fishing is good but the water is cold! Be sure and bring a quality pair of waist high waders and studded boots! To better your odds of hooking trout try nymph fishing with a three fly rig.  The fishing is good.  Overcast skies and 32-35 degree weather. The water temperature was between 36-39 degrees and Stained.
