Fishing Highlights:

Mark and Cam met me around 8:30am. I think all of us were worried about the weather being that it was dumping snow when we met. Our plan was to hike down and then fish are way back up to the cars. The water was higher and slightly off color. We nymphed the the deeper pools which produced a lot of fish. Fish were being caught on worms, eggs, and flashback nymphs. With the stained water the brighter flies were doing the trick. After a delicious lunch we got back to it. We nymphed a new more holes then switched to a dry dropper which picked up a couple more fish. Mark ended up with a grand slam which is always a fun thing to do. Overall we had a awesome day and caught a ton of fish. Thanks Mark and Cam for a great day on the water. Fish seem to still be hanging out in the deeper pools. Focus your efforts nymphing the deep pools throughout runoff until the water warms up more. Get out there and enjoy some fantastic fishing!

The upper reaches of South Boulder Creek are fishing extremely well! The creek is still cold so look for fish to be in their traditional winter holding zones. Nymph rigs are producing the majority of fish. Blue winged olive mayflies and midges are the primary hatches. We are getting ready to experience higher water.  The fishing is great.  Partly Cloudy skies and 40-43 degree weather. The water temperature was between 40-43 degrees and Stained.
