Quote(s) of the Day: I love streamer fishing!

Fishing Highlights:

Bob wanted to learn and work on his streamer fishing so that is what we did. On our way up to our beat we saw a moose in the road. This was Bob's first ever moose sighting. Once we got to the river we worked on perfecting the roll cast. It didn't take long before Bob hooked up with his first fish on a streamer. Tan and yellow colored streamers seemed to be the ticket today with the stained water. The majority of this fish we caught today were fat and healthy. With the warmer water temperatures the fish are hot and putting up a great fight. Bob and I had a blast fishing streamers all day and sharing stories. Thanks for a great day on the water Bob!

This is some of the best fly fishing in Colorado! Good hatches of Midges and Blue Winged Olives are prevalent.  Concentrate your efforts on the biggest and deepest holes in the river.  Look for fish holding anywhere there is structure especially eddies and log jams. Wading is difficult but the fishing is still good. Guides say tandem streamer setups are the way to go.  The fishing is great.  Partly Cloudy skies and 52-55 degree weather. The water temperature was between 40-43 degrees and Stained.
