Lincoln hills is just as amazing as it was last year!

Fishing Highlights:

Today I fished with Greg and Katheryn. Greg has been fishing a few times, so it was a matter of reminding him what he needed to do and he was off and casting. Katheryn and I worked on her casting and getting a proper drift. Our morning was fairly slow and we didn't turn a fish before lunch, but after lunch we had a much better day. Greg ended up hooking several fish and getting a couple of them to the net including a very fat and healthy rainbow. Katheryn had a pretty hot afternoon session going as well. She hooked into some really nice fish and got a couple to the net including a nice fat cutbow. We had a good time, and learned a little about the sport that will hopefully be useful the next time they come up to fish. What a great day on the water with Doug and Jack. The weather was amazing and these guys put some great fish in the net in all sorts of ways. In the morning we bagged several great fish on nymph-rigs including a Cutthroat at 20''x13''. Doug caught a few fish on the hopper as well as some dries right before lunch. After a great meal we got back to it - Jack didn't miss a beat putting several nice rainbows in the net right away. Doug bagged a few as well, working the double dries in every spot we could find a decent drift. Right at the end of the day, Jack fed a big ol' rainbow a sweet drift and we expected her to take the droppers, but she rose up slowly and slurped the hopper! Jack fought this fish like a pro, and a few moments later we had a great trout in the net. Well done, guys! Randy started off with dry dropper rigs today and never put them down. The fish were eating the droppers in the morning and the dries in the afternoon. John was first to put one in the net. Randy was not far behind with his first as well. The whole day had both anglers hooked up on a regular basis. It was great to be able to fish dries all day for a change. Both John and Randy had several big Lincoln Hills pigs on that managed to get away. We will have to get them next time. Thanks to the both of you for a great time on the water today. It was a bright sunny day and the fly fishing got better as the day went on. Mike and Malachi were able to net several nice rainbows and a couple of browns before lunch. The afternoon was great as it offered us some sight fishing to big trout. Mike sighted and hooked into three BIG trout but we were unable to land them. The best part of the day was the last half hour. The trout were feeding aggressively on nymphs and dry flies.I had the pleasure of fishing with Jerry and Nate on a beautiful day up at Lincoln Hills. We had the top of the property and the bottom of the property to fish today, so we had a little of both worlds! Pretty day and fish were on the feed early! The best thing about this time of the year is that you can catch fish on dries and nymphs! Caught some great fish today and had a great day!It was a real treat to fish with Deborah and Becky today and is a reminder that just chilling out and enjoying the moment results in a lot of fish on the end of our lines. We may not have gotten every fish to the net, but enjoyed the high jumps, long runs and aggressive head shakes. I wasn't too sure about how good the fishing would be in the early morning on the Steps Beat, but Deborah quickly hooked up with a nice 18" rainbow - reassurance that the fish are on the feed! Becky also landed a nice bow; first fish on a fly rod! Congrats! Just about every nice riffle or run resulted in either a strong hit, hookup or netted fish - so needless to say we were having fun. Becky hooked a couple of monsters in Bridge Hole which promptly exploded our rig and caused brief speechlessness. The afternoon fished great through the Lincoln Hills beat. Deborah really started mastering the cross current reach cast and drift - awesome to see the progress over the years. Lots of fish - good friends - TY!Had a great day fishing with Loren and Joe! We fished dry flies all day long adding droppers when needed. The end of the day with a few Bateis hatching out Joe expertly fished a double dry fly rig and ended the day with numerous fish landed. It was also fun talking with Joe and Loren about archery elk hunting.Today was an absolutely perfect day at Lincoln hills the fish were biting and the weather was amazing! Today we fished the Canyon beat and then moved to steps where we hooked a lot of big fish. Foster and I fished together last year on the same trip and it was a pleasure to fish with him again. This was Tony's 1st time at the club and he really wanted to get into fly fishing so I went over lots of details with him and I think we got him hooked. I can't wait to fish with these guys again next year!

It summer at Lincoln Hills, the big fish are on the feed and many big fish in the 4-6 pound class have been hooked and our fly fishing trips have been fantastic. Work the water in between major runs and riffles, sometimes the odd pocket will produce a trophy fish. The fish are looking fat and healthy! Many nice fish in the 16-22” range have been hooked! This is your best shot at a World- Class trout fishing experience close to Denver.  The fishing is good.  Clear skies and 60+ degree weather. The water temperature was between 52-55 degrees and Crystal Clear.
