Quote(s) of the Day: Man the fish took us down to about 25 yards of backing on the reel

Fishing Highlights:

With the cold weather that moved in overnight and the fact that they shut some of the water off from the tunnel the flows had dropped to the mid 400s today. This had the fish a little out of sorts and they were very picky and the takes were extremely light. Barry and Amy were in Denver for a conference this week and took a day to come up and fish with us. It took us a while today before we found what the fish were liking, but after that we managed to get a few in the net and lost a few wild ones as they ripped every inch of fly line off the reel and took us well into the backing before they managed to spit the hook. Amy got the first fish of the day on a deep running nymph rig. Barry started drifting a conehead woolly bugger below his indicator and finally picked up a couple of really nice bows. lots of laughs, high fives and the weather really did favor us today as it was supposed to get nasty around noon, but we had sun until we got in the cars to leave.

The fishing is fair.  Clear skies and 48-51 degree weather. The water temperature was between 32-35 degrees and Stained.
