Fishing Conditions: EXCELLENT
Fishing Trip Date:
Sunday, Jul 22, 2012Quote(s) of the Day: "We had a great day of fly fishing for trout in the Rocky Mountains close to Denver!"
I'd fish here everyday if I could! This is the best fishing I have ever experienced.
"Wow the water turned off color quick."
I caught another one!
I cannot believe the size of that fish.
"Man this is a beautiful place."
"The lake fished great all day!"
Second to none. Dry fly haven.
"Gosh, that is a big fish!"
Fishing Highlights:
The day was great and we had a awesome time fly fishing underneath the Colorado Sky!Hooking and landing five pound trout on Colorado's South Boulder Creek with Dry Flies. We had a serious thunder storm move in this afternoon with marble sized hail and driving rain. Soon after the storm cleared out the river was left off color and up several inches. These conditions left the fish hungry and eating san juan worms like crazy. Nothing like catch fish on the worm bite. It was a great to spend time on the water catching beautiful fish and visiting with friends.Watching the river come alive after a good quick rain. The highlight of the day was watching everybody enjoy themselves.Taking the drift boat out on the lake and fishing small dries to very large Rainbow and Brown trout all afternoon. There is no better way to spend the day!Lincoln Hills is Colorado's premier dry fly destination.Landing two very nice rainbows on streamers on back to back casts made for a fun afternoon on dry flies.
The fishing is fantastic.
Clear skies and 60+ degree weather. The water temperature was between 44-47 degrees and Crystal Clear.
